If you want to learn about the latest advancements, make your plans today for the [MC]2 Conference, April 28-30, 2015, at McCormick Place in Chicago.

The theme for the fourth edition of the conference is “Enabling Digital Manufacturing.” A wide range of topics will include the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), shop floor productivity and industrial cybersecurity. The conference will feature presentations from thought leaders in the industry, as well as plenty of opportunities for networking.

Dr. William King, Chief Technology Officer at the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII), will be one of the keynote speakers. King will discuss the industrial internet for manufacturing, especially DMDII’s technology vision, along with a preview of the Digital Manufacturing Commons (DMC), an open-source software project that is the signature technology initiative of DMDII.

Another anticipated speaker is Bryce Barnes, a senior manager for Cisco’s Internet of Things Manufacturing group. In this talk, Barnes will discuss Cisco’s IoT and manufacturing vision, real-life examples of IoT, and the value of MTConnect to manufacturing in this rapidly converging world of connected things.

A panel of cybersecurity experts from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Analytics Services Inc., and Johnson Controls will investigate the challenges, opportunities and resources available to address concerns around intellectual property protection.
