June 10, 2013 - USMTO News Release for April Manufacturing Technology OrdersApril U.S. manufacturing technology orders totaled $372.50 million according to AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTO program, was down 26.6% from March and down 12.6% when compared with the total of $426.44 million reported for April 2012. With a year-to-date total of $1,650.91 million, 2013 is down 7.0% compared with 2012.(more) |

Obama Administration seeks applicants for first phase of ‘Investing in Manufacturing Communities’ PartnershipThe Obama Administration is accepting applications for the first phase of the “Investing in Manufacturing Communities” Partnership, a new initiative intended to boost manufacturing and job creation. In the first phase, 25 grants of up to $200,000 each will be awarded to help regions develop long-term economic development strategies. These “Implementation Strategies” will encourage collaboration at the local level to identify the region’s comparative advantages and assets, and plan investments to expand the area’s appeal to manufacturers.
