MTConnect Webinar | Open Source Tools for OPC UA

Russ works on standards development in manufacturing for digital factory, Industry 4.0, industrial internet of things, machine to machine communication, machine learning, artificial intelligence, analytics, predictive health and maintenance. He runs the MTConnect Institute, which is the ANSI-accredited standards developer for the MTConnect standard with 400+ members. The standard includes domain specific vocabulary for CNC machine tools, milling machines, lathes, boring and drilling machines, electrical discharge machines, lasers, waterjets, plasma cutters, robots, cutting tools, sensors, 3D printers, and other factory equipment and devices for discrete manufacturing, as well as nascent information models for parts, processes, materials, supply chain, and manufacturing execution systems. Companion specifications for OPC UA, B2MML, and QIF incorporate cybersecurity and protocol, manufacturing execution, and quality and inspection data.

Simon Yeung is the author of a number of MTConnect Open Source projects, including an implementation of a MTConnect / OPC UA Gateway using open62541 SDK. He is a Founder and Principal at SyMT LLC, which provides Manufacturing Decision Support Systems service and products using MTConnect, OPC UA and NC-Link standards. Simon has over 30 years of experience in developing products for real-time data monitoring and decision-making systems for various industries. He was an early technology adapter for manufacturing automation and was a member of 1st generation FIX/DMACS development team at Intellution. He later moved to the financial industry and cofounded Redpoint Software Inc., which pioneered risk management products for capital and asset management market. Before founding SyMT, Simon was a Director at MSCI Inc and was responsible for managing their product development teams.
