DN Solutions Acquires German High-End Machine Tool Manufacturer Heller: Sales to Reach 2B Euros
Nurtingen, Germany, and Seoul, Korea — On Aug. 27, DN Solutions, the world’s No. 3 and Korea’s No. 1 machine tool company, announced its agreement to acquire Heller Group, a German cutting-edge machine tool manufacturer. Heller, founded in 1894, is a 131-year-old company recognized for its world-class machining center technology, specializing in demanding, high-precision processes. Once the integration is complete, DN Solutions’ consolidated sales are expected to approach 2 billion euros.

NCMS Releases White Paper on Best Practices for Manufacturers Seeking To Initiate Smart Manufacturing Solutions
Ann Arbor, Michigan — The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) has released a white paper promoting best practices for small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMM) seeking a strategy to initiate smart manufacturing solutions. The white paper, “Accelerating Smart Manufacturing: Best Practices for Small and Medium Manufacturers,” draws on lessons learned from several recent NCMS initiatives as well as research conducted by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and others focused on smart manufacturing implementation.
