The ARM Institute Announces New Five-Year, $87M Cooperative Agreement With Air Force Research Laboratory

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — The ARM (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing) Institute, the nation’s leading manufacturing innovation institute for robotics and AI, proudly announces a new five-year cooperative agreement (CA) with the Department of Air Force (DAF), Air Force Research Laboratory. The CA has a total ceiling of $87.66 million in combined government funding and ARM Institute cost share. Under this agreement, the ARM Institute will perform research, development, testing, and evaluation to advance the state of the art in dual-use robotics and automation technologies of interest to the DAF, as advanced robotics and automation technology is critical for the commercial industrial base and organic sustainment enterprise.

LIFT Puerto Rico Learning Lab Surpasses 1,000 Student Visitors

Caguas, Puerto Rico — LIFT, the Department of Defense-supported national advanced materials and manufacturing innovation institute, has officially welcomed more than 1,000 students to its Puerto Rico Learning Lab since its launch this past April. Students from across the island, some traveling more than 90 minutes to participate, have participated in the Learning Lab’s hands-on programs. Their commitment highlights both the urgent need for access to high-quality technical education and the growing enthusiasm for careers in manufacturing, robotics, and engineering. By the end of 2025, the Learning Lab expects to see 1,500 total students.
